Pin Point Potsdam 1865

Pin Point Potsdam is a project centered around a hand-drawn map of Potsdam from 1865. It's remarkable because the layout is almost identical to what you see today on Google Maps. We are asking the community to contribute by putting the pieces of this historic puzzle together and enjoy the pieces that others have already submitted. Census records, ancestry records, burial records and more can be found online. Go to the "Getting Started" link on the top right of the page. Records of deeds and taxes are available at the St. Lawrence County Courthouse.

The museum's archives hold many family files, photographs, early histories of Potsdam, and much much more. The museum is currently closed. Please email us with questions at  museum@vi.potsdam.ny.us.
